Here are 10 tips to help you take good care of your skin this season.

Fall is an important transition period, with skin subjected to temperature variations and drier air. With less exposure to the sun, it’s also a good time to start a new routine to address a specific condition or correct traces left by the sun.

Here are 10 tips to help you take good care of your skin this season:

1. Hydration

Look for moisturizers with richer formulas to prevent dryness or dehydration. Ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and natural oils are ideal. Also, remember to hydrate from the inside out with adequate daily water intake.

2. Gentle Cleansing

Use a mild cleanser to avoid further drying. Avoid alcohol-based products, which can aggravate dryness.

3. Exfoliation

Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells, but don’t overdo it. Choose gentle exfoliants such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or enzymes. Bear in mind, however, that exfoliating ingredients such as AHAs and BHAs can be aggressive to the skin. While they have many benefits, they can also increase sensitivity, irritation and redness. During the autumn months, when skin is already undergoing many changes, it may be time to reduce the use of chemical exfoliants and other powerful active ingredients. This is the time to take a break from intense treatments and focus on moisturizing and protecting the skin. You can continue to use a gentle exfoliant once or twice a week, but avoid overusing it.

4. Nourishing Serums

Incorporate an antioxidant-rich serum (such as one with vitamin C) to protect your skin from free radicals and boost its radiance.

5. Sun Protection

Even in autumn, it’s essential to use sunscreen. UV rays can damage the skin, even on cloudy days. We recommend it 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

6. Lips & Hands

Don’t forget to protect your lips with a moisturizing balm and your hands with a rich cream, especially after washing or before going to bed, for plumped-up lips and soft hands when you wake up.

Eat a diet rich in omega-3s, fruits and vegetables to nourish your skin from the inside out.
