Love is in the air! Can you smell it? Around this time of year I like to wear warm, spicy fragrances and Penhaligon’s Lp No.9 fits the bill perfectly. It was created in 1999 for Valentine’s Day and what was first just a fun, flirty and novel fragrance, quickly became a cult classic as people wanted to wear it all year around. Much like new love, Lp No.9 is fresh at the start with notes of lemon and lime. Slowly this scent warms up to something much richer, spicy and sensual with notes of patchouli, pepper and vetiver (the pepper and patchouli that adds real heat to this “love potion”). Lp No.9 is a unisex fragrance in a yin-yang sense – the masculine head notes oppose the more feminine lightly spiced amber base -proving opposites do attract, and when they do, it’s magic! I will be sure to spritz this one on this Valentine’s Day!
