Cocktail time, March 1930, London.
A group of architects gather for cocktails at Mayfair’s smartest Art Deco smoking room. As they settle in the warm interior of dark woods, leather and velvet, London’s bright young things burst in, frosted martinis in hand, surrounded by a cloud of laughter, white smoke and fine vanilla.
I was personally introduced to The Architects Club at Pitti Fragranze in Florence by Carlos Huber. There are so many things I love about this fragrance, but I think what I am most drawn to is the contrast of citrus and vanilla. This fragrance seems to go from cool to warm. If you are not a fan of vanilla in fragrances, don’t be so quick to dismiss The Architects Club. While the vanilla note in this fragrance is sweet, it is certainly not syrupy. Think, fresh, light, fluffy clouds of vanilla mingling with smokey woods with a bite of pepper. This is in my opinion the perfect every day scent for a man or a woman. The masculine side of this scent is herbal, and fresh with notes of spicy pepper, juniper and angelica – the gin to your tonic. A softer feminine side adds density with a a delicate resinous quality. Perfect for early Spring and Fall!
Key Notes: Juniper berry oil, Angelica root, Lemon peel oil, Bitter Orange, Pepperwood, Guaiac wood, Oakwood, Vanilla Absolute and Amber.
