Created in 1994 by Olivia Giacobetti for L’Artisan Parfumeur, Premier Figuier is said to be the first fig themed fragrance ever created, hence its name “The First Fig Tree” (translated into English). In this Eau de Toilette, the green notes of the fig leaves makes for a fresh beginning to an uplifting fragrance. Not citrus fresh, but a young fruit fresh, think green figs hanging from its branches. As the fragrance develops, you can start to smell a blend of fig with milk of almond, sandalwood, and coconut which dries down to sweet woody-floral-musk finish that is creamy and buttery, like a sweet custard. This is a versatile fragrance that can be worn all year around. I especially enjoy Premier Figuier during the colder winter months as it offers a welcoming and warm embrace.
“Imagine lying beneath a fig tree in the South of France; the air is hot, the scent of green leaves, sap, stalks, woods, sticky fruit. This is Premier Figuier.”
