How to Store Perfume: Fragrances are rarely labeled with expiration dates, and it is important to note that the they are not designed to last forever. Their chemical makeup changes over time, causing fragrances to weaken and/or change. Exposure to sunlight, air and humidity causes fragrance notes to break down and the scent can become musty or metallic smelling. The way you store perfume can affect it’s longevity. Bathroom counters are not ideal places to keep your perfumes because of the humidity caused by baths and showers. Look for a dry, dark and cool location to store your fragrances and if possible, keep them in their boxes.
