The Jet-Set Guide to Travelling With Fragrance

Our best tips for packing and travelling light, wherever you go.

To travel is to escape, to awaken the senses, to cultivate curiosity and to discover new horizons.

Whether it’s for a family trip, a romantic getaway, a business trip or a more exotic adventure, taking your favourite fragrances with you wherever you go can help enhance every moment.

Choosing the right fragrance, knowing how to apply it for a lasting effect, and packing it safely while respecting in-flight regulations can feel like a challenge…

Discover all our expert tips for travelling with your fragrances, hassle-free:

1. Choosing Your Travel Fragrances

Before you leave, select fragrances in travel-size formats, such as small 10 ml bottles, minis, sample sets, or 50 ml bottles, which are permitted in the cabin. Choose perfumes that align with the destination and the season: fresh, light notes for hot climates, more enveloping accords for cooler or colder climates.

2. How to Pack Them

Elegant but fragile, perfume bottles, often made of glass, are not the best travel companions… unless you take a few precautions. To avoid leaks or breakage, opt for a padded carrying case, specially designed to protect your favourite fragrances.

A little tip: before screwing the cap back on, place a transparent plastic film over the neck of the bottle. This simple gesture limits the risk of leakage into your toiletry bag, even in the event of pressure variations.

3. Cabin Rules

In the cabin, liquids must be carried in containers of no more than 100 ml, for a total of no more than 1,000 ml. All must be placed in a transparent, resealable, easily accessible plastic bag.

Prepare this bag before you arrive at the security checkpoint. You’ll save time and avoid last-minute searches that can delay your passage.

4. Perfume & Travel: The Art of Discretion

Travelling with a perfume means taking a bit of home with you, a reassuring olfactory signature. But in enclosed spaces (planes, trains, public transport), subtlety is essential. Apply your fragrance sparingly: one or two sprays on pulse points (wrists, neck, elbows) are enough to fully enjoy it, without bothering those around you.

A tip to consider: hair perfume. Lighter, it delicately diffuses your scent with every movement, while respecting the sensitivity of other passengers.

5. How to Store Them

To preserve the quality of your fragrance, keep it away from light, heat and humidity. These elements can alter its composition and scent. A cool, dark drawer or cupboard is the best place for your perfumes.
