Say goodbye to classic lipstick. Inspired by the natural flush that lingers after biting into a ripe piece of fruit or exchanging a kiss, the “Bouche Mordue” lip trend balances blurred edges with a subtle wash of colour for an effect that is both natural and captivating. Less structured than traditional lipstick, this look brings irresistible freshness and that little “je ne sais quoi” that makes all the difference.
Read on for our tips and tricks on how to nail this endlessly versatile beauty look.
THE BREAKDOWN: HOW TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK

1. Prep the lips by gently exfoliating and moisturizing with a balm to remove dead skin for a smooth finish. Be careful to apply a thinner layer for better colour application.
2. Place the most intense colour in the centre of the lips with a pencil, brush, or directly with a lip tint. Look for cherry or raspberry reds, burgundies, maroons or muted colours such as a soft and dusty rose. Multiple shades can be layered for greater depth.
3. Blend outward, the lighter intensity feathering to the outer lip line by using your finger or a brush to soften the edges. The more subtle the gradient, the more natural the bitten effect.
4. Optional: add a little gloss to the center for a “wet” and plump effect.
