Atelier Cologne Grand Néroli is one of my favourite scents to wear in the summer! While I usually prefer orange blossom fragrances, I find myself craving the smell of neroli when I’m in the mood for something cool, green, citrusy and tart for a hot summer day.
The windows were thrown open to let in the afternoon sun, along with a breeze of orange blossoms. She secured fresh flowers into her hair and her eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation. She had been a whirl of precise motion in her final preparation and took pause to dream about the moment to come.
Atelier Cologne Grand Néroli opens with a crisp and refreshing citrus burst. However citrus top notes are relatively short-lived, as the scent develops into a slightly masculine, green and woody chypre that balances the flagrantly floral neroli note. As the fragrance evolves, it remains quite a fresh fragrance, while the oakmoss, musk and galbanum add depth and warmth. The vanilla and amber in the base notes add a hint of sweet creaminess. It’s the type of sensual scent where others around you will wonder whether it is a perfume or the natural smell of your skin.
Top notes: Moroccan neroli, chilled lemon, Sicilian bergamot, petitgrain
Heart notes: Persian galbanum, moss, birch leaves
Base notes: Clean musk, white amber, vanilla from Madagascar
