The official one-year anniversary date for Etiket is December 13th, but obviously Etiket did not start on that day, it started long before. The idea of having my own store is something that has been with me since I started work at Eaton’s when I was 16 years old. There was something magical to me about retail. My favourite day to work was Saturday because it was the busiest. I was one of the top salesmen in the downtown store in Winnipeg, the store long gone now, but the memories and a lot of what I learned is still with me.
- I learned that customer service comes first.
- I learned to have the best products that you can find on the market
- I learned that the customer may not always be right, but they are the customers and without them the store won’t be there
- I learned that retail is hard work and you have to love it!
There are so many people that have contributed to the success of Etiket over the last year but it is really you, our customers that have been the most important. You have applauded us when we did something right, you have encouraged us by coming back, you have criticized us and taught us when we needed to learn. You have also reminded us each day why we all love what we do here so much.
